World champion Australia defeated India’s Winning Campaign win in Champions Trophy hockey tournament on Tuesday, 3-2. Lachlan Sharp (6th minute), Tom Craig (15th) and Trent Mitton (33rd) achieved the goals for Australia. For India Varun Kumar (10th) and Harmanpreet Singh (58th) achieved goals.
Australia begins the match with a beat. Australia got the opportunity in the fourth minute, which was Brilliant save by goalkeeper Sreejesh. The Australia squad continued the attack afterward and in the 6th minute, Lachlan Sharp gave the team a 1-0 lead, showing the direction of the ball in the mesh just outside of the goal post. India got a penalty corner in the 10th minute, which Australia unsuccessful, but Varun Kumar scored a fine shot at SV Sunil’s brilliant pass, giving India a 1-1 draw. After this, Australia made a fast attack and in the 15th minute, they got a penalty corner on which Tom Craig scored a goal, giving the world champion team a 2-1 lead. India got a penalty corner in the 18th minute, which was cleared by the Australian Defender. Soon after this, India and Australia got one penalty corner, but they could not take benefit of it. In the 22nd minute, Australia makes stronger its edge, if Surender Kumar did not clear the ball near the goal line. In the 28th minute, Australia took a penalty corner through review, on which goalkeeper Sreejesh had a great defense.
Australia kept the stress and got the benefit in the 33rd minute when Trent Milton made the goal-scoring Australia 3-0 ahead. The review was taken for this goal but it was found correct. In the 39th minute, Sreejesh did a good job. Previous, India had defeated Pakistan 4-0 and then Olympic champion Argentina 2-1. On the other hand, Australia defeated Pakistan 2-1 after playing draws from Belgium 3-3.
